We Provide Confidential Help and Support for Lawyers, Judges, and Law Students

Lawyers

The inherently competitive and demanding nature of the practice of law makes lawyers particularly vulnerable to mental health concerns and substance abuse. KALAP is here to help. KALAP's confidential services, including counseling, support groups, mentoring and interventions, and referrals for assessments and treatment, are available to all Kansas lawyers at no cost.

Judges

Judges experience many of the same problems as other members of the legal profession – stress, depression, balancing work and family, alcohol or drug abuse, and compulsive behaviors. The Kansas Judges Assistance Committee provides confidential assistance to any Kansas judge in need due to mental or physical disability, or addiction.
